The A64 at Sherburn has now reopened following a crash earlier this morning.
EMERGENCY services attended a crash near Sherburn at around 9.40am, which has resulted in both lanes being closed.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "emergency services including an ambulance are at the scene of the collision, which was reported at 9.40am.
"It appears the incident involved two vehicles.
"Drivers advised to avoid the area at this time."
