A NEW event will take place in York on Tuesday, where local businesswomen will showcase what they can do to help others in business.

The free to attend WMB (Women Means Business) Business Expo will be held at The Park Inn by Raddison York, on North Street, from 10am to 4pm.

More than 40 members of WMB, including printers, branding specialists, social media experts and virtual assistants, will be available to chat about how they can help people in their business.

WMB is a support and networking group based in York. Set up by Tracy Burleigh three years ago, it has attracted more than 2,000 members, who are all businesswomen in the YO postcode area.

A large number of these businesswomen have their own business and work from home.

Tracy said: "The majority of the members of Women Mean Business York don’t have physical shop fronts so I decided to create an event where they did. Every single member is so amazing and I really want to give them the exposure they deserve, I want to get them out there and make sure as many people as possible know what they offer.”

WMB will hold another event on November 16 where exhibitors will be offering food, drink and gifts, while on January 25 next year there will be an event to coincide with York Residents Festival, which will be will be packed with local classes, services and products. Both will be held at The Park Inn by Raddison York.
