THE first house to be given to the National Trust complete with all its contents has unveiled its tour programme for this summer.
Treasurer’s House in Minster Yard, behind the Minster, was the York home of the 19th century industrialist Frank Green.
The current townhouse was constructed out of three other buildings.
It is called Treasurer’s House because it was constructed on the site of the Minster Treasury and was donated to the trust complete with all its contents in 1930.
Visitor Guide, Elaine Allman, said: “Visitors love the small tours because they get a personal story of the 200-year old house and its eccentric owner, Frank Green, who created it as his home.”
The tours last 45 minutes and run every 15 minutes from Wednesday to Friday from May 1 to October 25.
On specific days, there are also attic tours crossing the rooftops and cellar tours with a chance to see ghostly Roman soldiers.
