FIVE head teachers within Ebor Academy Trust have started the summer term in different schools, all within the York-based organisation.

The reshuffle underlines the trust’s commitment to it being a “family” of schools, ensuring career ambitions can be met without leaving the multi-academy trust.

Richard Ludlow, Ebor’s chief executive, said: “It means staff can progress their careers in a supportive environment in different schools within our trust whilst still maintaining links and continuing professional networks and relationships.

"This brings welcome new ideas into the classroom and fresh thinking which will enrich our children’s education.”

Caroline Towler is moving from Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy to Tadcaster Primary Academy; Donna Bedford is moving from Tadcaster to Staynor Hall Community Primary Academy in Selby; Tim Jolly is moving from Staynor Hall to Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy in Scarborough; and Bev Fletcher is moving from Camblesforth to Brotherton & Byram. Dave Card will be head of school at Camblesforth Community Primary Academy, from being deputy head at Staynor Hall.

Ebor currently operates 22 schools, which in York includes Robert Wilkinson, Haxby Road, Hob Moor Community Primary Academy, Hob Moor Oaks, Lakeside Primary Academy, Park Grove Primary and Osbaldwick Primary. It also has other schools in Selby, the East Riding and on the Yorkshire Coast. Two more schools in Hessle, Hull, are scheduled to join in July.

The Press reported in March that a steering group has been set up to start the process of looking for a new CEO as Mr Ludlow will retire during the 2019-20 academic year.
