Spring has most definitely been in the air over the Easter break, with enough sunshine before the showers to show off the natural beauty to be found on street corners in York, in the city's parks and flower beds, and further afield in the countryside of North and East Yorkshire.

Sadly the wet and windier weather towards the end of this week has blown away a lot of the blossom, but members of The Press Facebook Camera Club have still been able to capture some cracking images of the season in all its glory.

From blossom-covered footpaths alongside York's River Ouse to bluebells beneath Roseberry Topping and puffins at Bempton cliffs, there's plenty to enjoy in around our area.

The early part of next week looks set to start with low cloud, giving way to some bright or sunny spells. It should remain dry tomorrow with light winds, and feeling warmer, with the maximum temperature reaching 15°C.
