A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for thunderstorms in York - which could lead to travel and power supply disruption.
The Met Office warning is in force until 9pm tonight (Wednesday, April 24).
It says that train services may be affected by short term loss of power and that motorists could experience spray and standing water.
The Met Office added there could be "possible damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes".
It said: "Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible."
The main group of storms is over the western half of North Yorkshire and is moving northwards.
