A SCHOOL in York has said goodbye to a pair of long-serving administrators.

Diane Carver and Lesley Almond have been administrators of Copmanthorpe Primary School for 45 years between them.

Mrs Almond was previously administrator of Copmanthorpe Infant School and Mrs Carver of Copmanthorpe Junior School, and when the schools amalgamated in 2000, they began working together to support the efficient running of the office and worked together until their retirement earlier this month.

Jenny Rogers, headteacher at the school, said: "They have been invaluable as the front of house face of the school for so long, welcoming everyone with a smile.

"They know every family by name and over the years have now seen generations being educated at Copmanthorpe School. Due to their amazing organisation, dedication and loyalty to the school they have ensured that everything has run as smoothly as possible. We will all miss them very much and wish them both a happy retirement."
