A MAN suffered burns in a fire involving rubbish in a village near York.
Fire crews were called to Main Street in Sutton-Upon-Derwent, close to Wheldrake, at about 4.30pm yesterday (April 15).
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said the fire spread to cardboard in a nearby container.
It added that a man sustained burns to his upper limbs and head.
Cooling water was applied and oxygen therapy was given to the casualty, who was taken to hospital, the service said.
