Reading The Press on Thursday I suddenly felt full of optimism, and happy with life in general. Why? I read the article by Helen Mead, and her joy when experiencing picnics (You can’t beat a good picnic, April 11).
This would not make me that happy in itself (I dislike picnics with a passion), but the fact that she writes about an enjoyment in her life, pleases me more than I thought it would.
I have been used to feeling quite dismal after reading her and Emma Clayton’s articles in the past, always full of things they dislike, and leaving me turning to Brexit for light relief. But today I congratulate The Press for lightening my day, and keeping my normal happy bubbly self intact.
