A NORTH Yorkshire head teacher is limbering up for a major challenge to raise funds for a much-needed defibrillator.
Crayke CE Primary head Andrew Buttery and his wife, Kara, are going to attempt the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, having successfully climbed Mount Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike.
The pair are undertaking the mammoth trial to raise money for a defibrillator for Crayke Sports Club & Village Hall and Crayke Home and School Association.
Andrew said: "There is already a defibrillator at the Durham Ox pub in Crayke, however the local community feel it would be beneficial to have another one at the village's sports facility and within close proximity to the school."
Andrew and Kara will set off on the 24-mile walk on Sunday, April 21.
The course covers the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and takes around 12 hours to complete.
