THE Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry has announced this year's tours of First World War battlefield sites in France and Flanders.
The tours take place in September and will visit cemeteries and memorials of the Somme, Ypres Salient, Arras, Vimy Ridge and Loos with an experienced guide.
Trips are open to all. For information phone 01977 734 614 or send a medium self-addressed envelope to John Battye, 32 Rhodes Street, Hightown, Castleford, West Yorkshire, WF10 5LL.
The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry battlefield pilgrimages was formed as a charitable hobby in 1990, by ex-servicemen who have many years of practical experience conducting tours.
The not-for-profit organisation supports the Royal British Legion poppy appeal.
