Nearly three years ago we voted to come out of Europe. As far as I can see, we never will.

Politicians of all parties have decided for reasons of their own not to.

The reasons seem to be many and varied but most of them have decided its not the thing.

Now my question is why did we vote at all?

I understood that I lived in a democratic country.

If I voted for something it should happen given a little time.

But we all know by now that one way and another the politicians are not going to let Brexit happen.

So my next question is: why should I vote at all for anyone?

If Brexit doesn’t happen I won’t vote for any of the three main parties again, working on the premise that they have ignored us this time so why will they take notice of us at any time in the future?

I’m sure there are thousands more like me.

I have always been a voter and would like to carry on, but now my thoughts are who can I vote for?

Is there a party yet maybe still to be formed who will be as honest as I would like them to be?

We’re supposed to be a united kingdom

I totally agree with the letter from A P Cox (Brexit mess shows democracy is dead, Letters, April 2) but would add that most MPs want to stay in the EU and that’s the problem.

I would just like to add a comment about the SNP and DUP.

They accept money from the English and sit in Parliament to help with the laws and regulations but want, and have, their own parliament where they can make laws upon which we have no say. Can this be right?

I would also point out that England has just seen a hike in prescription charges - Scotland and Northern Ireland pay nothing for these.

How fair can this be when we are supposed to be a United Kingdom?

Perhaps some politician would care to clarify?
