TWO derelict caravans in the garden of a North Yorkshire property were "totally destroyed" by fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

A fire crew was called to the incident on Westway in Eastfield, near Scarborough, at 6.25pm yesterday (April 8).

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire fire service said: "Both caravans were totally destroyed by the fire.

"Cause believed to be deliberate."

The crew used one hose reel jet to put out the flames.
