The national professional body for solicitors in England and Wales has chosen a York solicitors’ firm to take part in promoting its scheme to highlight well-managed firms that look after their clients.

The Law Society’s Lexcel system gives accreditations to lawyers’ firms that demonstrate good client care, compliance with professional and other regulations, manage risk effectively, reduce costs and promote profitability.

The society has created four promotion videos, each featuring a firm already on the scheme – including criminal law specialists Howard & Byrne of York.

Kevin Blount, managing partner of Howard & Byrne, who stars in his firm’s video, said: “It’s a huge thing to be approached by the Law Society to represent them in this way and we are delighted to have been asked.”

On the video he talks about how accreditation has helped his firm adopt good management procedures and their benefits.

All four videos are online on the Law Society’s website.
