PUNTERS turned out in force for The Press Guardian Angels Race Night and raised £1,345 for our appeal.
The event was organised by pharmacy assistant Karen Hardcastle, of Osbaldwick, who is running next year's London Marathon for the appeal.
More than 120 people packed into Osbaldwick Sports Club for the race night, which was the latest fundraiser organised by Karen ahead of the marathon.
She said: "It was a fantastic evening - everybody really got into the spirit and we had a lot of fun."
She thanked the eight businesses that sponsored the event: Osbaldwick Fisheries; Clifton Carpet Centre; Mr Snips, Martin's Skip Hire; Badger Hill Pharmacy; Stone Plan Construction Ltd; York Tackle; and Classic Rooms And Fireplaces.
The Press's Guardian Angels Appeal aims to raise £300,000 for a new high-dependency unit for children at York Hospital.
