A NUMBER of jobs in York were saved when a leading outdoor store which went into liquidation was sold.
Fort William-based Nevisport has been snapped up by outdoor clothing firm Jacobs & Turner, administrators KPMG said.
Nevisport bosses blamed poor sales brought on by difficult trading circumstances and unseasonable weather for the liquidation move revealed earlier this week.
Today's sale will see the business continue to operate from its remaining six stores in Finkle Street, York, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Fort William, Aviemore and Middlesbrough.
Nevisport employed around 91 staff at the outlets.
Its branches in Newcastle, Leeds, Inverness, Glasgow and Altrincham closed last week.
Glasgow-based Jacobs & Turner, which owns the Trespass brand of outdoor clothing, refused to comment on the deal.
Nevisport was founded in 1968.
