THIS week’s musings from Chris Moncrieff covered the subject of how government can bumble on happily without politicians (Yes, Theresa, it could get worse, column, April 2).

Perhaps I might remind him that civil servants are members of that most dreaded of species, unelected bureaucrats. Worse, most of them think Brexit is a very bad idea.

So without political masters insisting they deliver it, we can be sure that government would bumble along happily without Brexit ever happening.

In the light of that, Mr Moncrieff, do you still agree with what you wrote?

No deal and no more delays to our EU exit

IF there was another referendum I would object on the grounds that we have made our decision and it being a waste of public money.

If a new vote were remain, I would ask for a third to make it best of three.

It is surprising to me, like all who voted out, to discover that we are all stupid blue collar workers who didn’t know what we were doing.

What a nerve the BBC and remainers have.

I voted for border controls, also for our tax money to be available for UK health, education and roads and not wasted on other countries.

As for MPs’ conscience, the remainers who ignore the majority of ‘out’ voters are a disgrace.

No deal please, no further delays and definitely no £48 billion payment.
