A NATIONAL fashion brand is to close its branch in York.
Whistles on Stonegate will shut on April 20, a spokesman for the company has confirmed.
The Grade II-listed building has now been put up for let.
Blacks Property Consultants is marketing the unit, which is between Jigsaw and Oliver Bonas, for a rent of £85,000 per annum.
Speaking to The Press in March, Blacks managing director Andrew Hedley said that back in 1992, there had been 18 empty premises in Stonegate and now there was a 'queue' when any property became available.
Whistles also has concessions in Fenwick and John Lewis.
