ACOMB and Westfield Neighbourhood Forum will hold a community event and AGM this weekend, and local residents and businesses are invited to attend and share their views.

It will be held at Acomb Explore Library on Saturday between 3.30 and 5.30pm.

Members of the Forum’s Steering Group have been out and about in recent weeks talking to community groups in Acomb and Westfield about what they like best, and least, about living in the area, and what would make it an even better place to live.

Now locals can see the results and add their own ideas to the Rebuilding Acomb wall, while enjoying a cuppa and cake with fellow residents. The feedback will help to shape the Forum’s vision and identify the issues to focus on as it starts to collect evidence and views to put together a community-led Neighbourhood Plan for the people of Acomb and Westfield.

Also at the event, YorSpace will be showing the plans for its communal living scheme - where people would eat meals together, share their cars and grow their own food. The organisation will build 19 homes within a larger development at the former Lowfield School site.
