I feel the need to come out in support of Sir Gary Verity (Sir Gary ‘given written warning’, March 27).
Here in Yorkshire, we are known for our “straight talking”.
I am sure this is what an out-of-county lawyer would consider as “bullying”.
Mr Verity and his team have brought untold millions into this county. Cycling just happened to be the tool he used to do it.
We are all happy to be part of this increase in finance to our county. What’s a few thousand in expenses, if the outcome is right?
Here we are again, when someone does good here in the UK, we have to bring them down. In any other country, a statue would be put up of Sir Gary waving a big stick to break a few eggs.
