COXWOLD Village Market, a new food and craft market, is being launched on Saturday, March 30, at 10am.
The market has been founded by Katie Turner, who works with her partner John Thornton from Thornton’s Bakehouse and Butchers of Easingwold. It will be opened by chef Tommy Banks of The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots York.
She said: “I’m passionate about the local community, supporting independent business and the provenance of produce. It’s this passion which has driven me to create Coxwold Village Market and to try and give back to the local community, offering shoppers something more than their closest supermarket. I really hope this market will become a focus of village life here in Coxwold.”
The market will offer locally-made goods; stallholders range from florists and bee keepers to plant growers and butchers. There will also be a raffle to raise funds for Freddie’s Fight, supporting the young boy from Ampleforth who has an aggressive form of cancer.
