Warning over new phone scam
MORE than 100 people have complained about a new scam.
North Yorkshire Police shared a message from Trading Standards after criminals contacted residents to trick them into handing over financial details.
A spokesman said the fraudsters claim the residents are owed a council tax refund to get their bank details, and anyone who has received a similar call should contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or police on 101.
