York Knavesmire Harriers competed well in the Berlin Marathon, where Ian Anderson put in a sound display for a time of two hours and 42 minutes.

Richard Lowson clocked 2.48, veteran Mike McGrath 3.13 and Peter Schofield 3.47.

Knavesmire Harriers' ladies were first team in the Selby Half Marathon led by Janet Cordingley, who was first home in 1.38 followed by Sarah Nettelton (1.40) and Alison Buchan Grant (1.42). In the men's race Martin Smith and Graeme McAllister both clocked 1.33.

In the Horsforth 10k, Kim Critchley was strong throughout the race to finish first in 33 minutes to warm up for the cross country season.

Martin Smith finished in 41-33 while Maureen Medlar was second in her age category in a time of 51-44 with Gregory Morris just behind in a time of 56-01.
