POLICE have arrested a man after responding to reports of someone allegedly "brandishing a knife" in York.
The York North Safer Neighbourhood Team wrote on Twitter that officers were called to New Earswick on Sunday and carried out an area search.
A man was arrested in Haxby for possession of a bladed article in a public place, the team added.
