PUBLIC services union UNISON is running an interactive event in York to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday.
The event, at Millers Yard, in Gillygate, is being run in conjunction with KYRA Women’s Project, a York-based charity which exists to help local women make positive change in their lives.
Taking place from 10am to 4pm, the event is for any women interested in attending and is a chance to learn new skills, enjoy lunch and listen to inspirational women talk about trade unions, the feminist movement and the importance of public and charitable services in women’s lives.
York Central MP Rachael Maskell will be the guest speaker.
The event will raise awareness and funds for KYRA.
