PUPILS at Malton Primary School are doing their bit to help save the plant.
“Power Down Pete” is the super hero alter ego of North Yorkshire County Council’s carbon reduction officer Peter Bell, who runs lessons and workshops to deliver the environmental message.
Head teacher Kelly Reppold said: “He gave us an assembly about how we can all do our bit to help save the planet.
“Power Down Pete also gave us 10 action points to follow, including recycling, switching off unused appliances and cutting down on the amount of plastic we use. Everybody certainly learnt something they could do in a practical way to help reduce global warming.
“The school has just achieved its Eco Schools Bronze Award and this work will support the school in gaining the Eco School green flag award.
