A YORK charity is opening a new shop in Easingwold next week - and inviting people along for the official opening.

St Leonard’s Hospice will open its new shop at 25 Chapel Street in Easingwold at 11am on Tuesday, March 5. The shop, which is the 13th St Leonard’s Hospice shop, will stock good quality, second-hand clothing, accessories, books, media and electronics. Councillor Peter Nottage, the Mayor of Easingwold, will officially open the shop, along with staff, volunteers and supporters of the hospice.

Retail manager Helen Moreton said: “We have had so much excitement and support from the Easingwold community already and we are incredibly grateful."

"We hope to meet lots of people at the shop on March 5 for our opening.

“The shop was fitted out to a high standard already, as left by the landlord, Towlers. Therefore in order to give it a unique St Leonard’s Hospice look we have remodelled the counter and our retail team has created purpose-built hanging units that will blend the old with the new and give it a unique and more modern look.

"We have been supported once again with materials supplied by MKM Builders and also support from local suppliers Galtres Timber Merchants.”

If you are interested in volunteering at the new shop, contact the retail team on 01904 788 777.
