A MAN has denied breaking a cyclist’s wrist by deliberately driving at him and knocking him off his bike.
William Status Heslop, 32, is accused of causing serious injury to the cyclist by dangerous driving.
He was charged following an incident on Barlby Road, Selby, on June 26.
At a plea and trial preparation hearing at York Crown Court, Heslop spoke only to confirm his name and to enter his plea of not guilty to a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Lawyers for prosecution and defence discussed a timetable for preparing his trial, which will be held at the same court on June 18.
Heslop, of Laurel Close, Thorpe Willoughby, was released on unconditional bail.
The brief hearing was his first before York Crown Court, and followed an appearance before York magistrates last month.
