WORK is still on-going as part of a £1.1million upgrade to The Stonebow, Fossgate and Pavement in the centre of York.
The diggers moved in this week and City of York Council said the street will be closed for a further five weeks to improve the appearance and character of York as well as to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment and improve access for pedestrians and cyclists. First York said that they are still expecting delays.
A spokesman said: “Our experienced teams will be working hard, working with City of York Council Network Monitoring Officers to minimise delays to you where possible.
"Please allow additional time for your journeys.
"Departure times from all keys stops except diverted portions of routes will stay the same, buses that normally stop at Stonebow, 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, will call at Clifford Street, there will be approximate departure times will be on stops."
