POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision on the A59 near Poppleton yesterday evening.
A call was received by police just after 4pm reporting a two vehicle collision on between Poppleton and Hessay. The collision involved a grey Nissan Note which was travelling towards Harrogate and a black Vauxhall Astra which was travelling in the opposite direction.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "A woman in her 70s who was a passenger in the Nissan was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment to injuries which are believed to be serious but not life threatening.
"The driver of the Nissan, a man in his 70s and the driver and an occupant of the Vauxhall who are both in their 60s were taken by land ambulance to hospital for treatment to injuries they sustained in the collision.
"Road closures were put in place while the initial collision investigation was carried out and while recovery was made for the vehicles involved. The road was reopened at around 8.50pm.
