THIS photo taken by The Press Camera Club member, Kev Bailey, shows work taking place on Scarborough Bridge in York.
It shows foundations being laid on the station side of the bridge and follows the removal of the old footbridge by a rail crane overnight on February 9.
The new pedestrian and cycle route is set to be lifted into place in two separate pieces overnight this weekend, February 23, and next weekend, March 2.
A council spokesman said piling work on the embankments has now been completed.
And the new bridge is due to open on March 18, as long as weather does not delay the improvement works at all.
