THE Wizard Quest's walking tours will resume in York city centre in March.

"After a successful season of private bookings over the winter, we're thrilled to announce the return of our regular public tours next month," says wizard Professor actor Daniel Wilmot.

"Conceived and written by playwright Allegra North, The Wizard Quest is an exciting, family-friendly, interactive walking tour that enables Harry Potter fans of all ages to experience the magic first hand. As our professional actors guide you through the city that inspired Diagon Alley, prepare to be surprised and delighted as the magic comes to life around you.

"Get ready to test your skills at potion-making (watch out, the Professor is strict); battle dark forces (you best bring a wand); learn and cast new spells (don't forget to swish and flick); break curses; discover magical creatures and hunt for a stolen key that you must find before York is lost to evil."

Starting up again from March 7 and 8, the 45-minute tours will run on Thursday and Friday evenings at 5.45pm, setting out from King's Square and taking in stories from York's magical history along the way.

"Dressing up/cosplay is more than welcome, as are dogs, well-behaved werewolves and other fantastic beasts," says Daniel. "Be warned: this may contain mild peril, so again, bringing wands is advisable."

Tickets cost £8, children £4, on sale either on the evening or by contacting yorkwizardquest@gmail.com for advance bookings. Private tours for children's birthday parties are available too, as are Potions Parties with a fully qualified potions master.
