AM I correct in thinking that there are two NHSs? One that the BBC constantly finds fault with, is always in crisis and missing important targets, and the one that I personally experienced after falling recently?
I was treated with the utmost care at all times. What is more important, statistics or the level of care? Care that is appropriate, care that is effective, care that is personal.
I was in A&E for 12 hours before being found a bed, but did I care? I did not.
The NHS I experienced looked after me in a way I have never known outside my own family.
They removed the pain, checked me over thoroughly, explained their findings and recommendations and just as importantly gave me countless cups of tea and packets of biscuits.
I couldn’t care less how long I lay on the trolley. Does it matter whether it is three hours 59 minutes or four hours one minute? It doesn’t.
