THERE’S something horrifying about the latest production to come out of a York secondary school.

This week there will be a strange plant going by the name of Audrey II at the Joseph Rowntree School's Vaudeville Theatre.

The performing arts faculty are presenting their upper school production of Little Shop of Horrors with performances starting on Tuesday, February 19 and running until Thursday, February 21.

The story follows Seymour Krelborn, played by Adam Kane, at the Skid Row Florist, where a strange plant suddenly starts to grow to massive proportions. Will the plant help Seymour win the affections of his beloved Audrey, played by Katie Western, or does it have other ideas?

A sell out primary school dress rehearsal will start the run of shows, with the cast visiting primary schools for workshops and assemblies.
