FIREFIGHTERS have assisted paramedics with a casualty after a crash happened near the highest pub on the North York Moors.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said a crew from Kirkbymoorside was sent to a two-vehicle accident near the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge at just after 8.40am today.
A spokeswoman said firefighters used tools to help an ambulance gain access to a casualty, who was taken to hospital with injuries which were not believed to be serious.
The pub is a 16th Century freehouse standing at1,325 feet above sea level, with views of Rosedale and Farndale.
