FURTHER to plans to build more office space on the teardrop site (More office space and new transport model in revised York Central plan, January 30), do these people actually walk round our city?

A walk down Piccadilly will see the massive development of Ryedale House, a former office block, into apartments, and the office block across the road already apartments.

The massive Aviva building was going to be apartments but is now going to be a hotel.

Then out at Clifton Moor, office blocks are being converted to housing.

Why build more office space when it is obviously not needed? Why not independent housing for the elderly?
