A BALLET school in York is stepping into Wonderland.

Patricia Veale School of Dance is staging a new performance of Alice in Wonderland at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.

The magical story is being retold at the theatre in Haxby Road through a mixture of ballet, jazz, contemporary and other dance styles.

The ballet school will be performing three times: today (Friday, February 15) at 7.30pm and tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Kelly Clarey, principal and director of the Patricia Veale School of Dance, said: “This performance of Alice in Wonderland is a show for all the family.

“It features super choreography and fabulous costumes as Alice finds herself among many new mysterious friends on her adventure into the fantasy of Wonderland.”

Tickets are £16 for adults and £12 for concessions, and £1 from each ticket will be donated to St Leonard’s Hospice.
