A MAN arrested in connection with an alleged violent incident in the city centre has been released on conditional police bail.
The incident in Micklegate was reported to police at about 7.15am last Friday.
Officers swooped on Morrisons petrol station in Foss Islands Road following the incident.
A 36-year-old man was arrested for affray and possession of an offensive weapon, North Yorkshire Police said.
A spokesman for the force has since told The Press: "The 36-year-old man who was arrested has been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue."
