FAME is not going to live forever at the Grand Opera House, York, alas. Instead Fame, The Musical's run from March 4 to 9 has been axed.

The official cancellation notice reads: "Due to circumstances beyond the control of the producer and the theatre, we regret to inform patrons that Fame, The Musical is cancelled at the York Grand Opera House for the week commencing 4 March 2019.

Fame The Musical will continue to visit all other venues on the tour schedule."

Produced by Selladoor Productions, the show features soul singer and musical actress Mica Paris as Miss Sharman; Keith Jack, from Any Dream Will Do and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as Nick Piazza and Jorgie Porter, from Hollyoaks and Dancing On Ice, as Iris Kelly.

For more information on the rest of a tour that will run on various dates until November 9, with no other Yorkshire shows to come, go to fameuktour.co.uk/tour-dates.

Selladoor's 30th anniversary tour did visit Yorkshire last year, playing the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, from August 27 to September 1 and a sold-out Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield, from October 9 to 13 with the same star names.
