CULT Scottish musician King Creosote will play a tiny-capacity gig in the Stained Glass Centre, at St Martin-cum-Gregory Church, Micklegate, York, on April 4.
"We're delighted to be hosting a very intimate solo show with King Creosote in this beautiful, re-purposed church in the city centre and I think we may look to do some more shows in there because it's great," says Joe Coates, of York concert promoters Please Please You.
King Creosote is the alias of 52-year-old Kenny Anderson, an independent singer-songwriter from Fife, Scotland, who was the founder of the Fence Collective coterie of musicians at Anstruther, a fishing village on the East Neuk stretch of the Scottish coast.
To date, Anderson has released more than 40 albums, the most recent being Astronaut Meets Appleman in 2016, and he is also a member of the Scottish-Canadian band The Burns Unit.
Only 80 tickets are available for King Creosote's 7.30pm show, on sale at £20 at seetickets.com.
