POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary that occurred in Acomb, York.

North Yorkshire Police said that the incident happened on Holgate Road, at 4.45am on Monday 4 February 2019, and involved an offender throwing a brick into the lower door window pane of the a hair salon.

The offender then entered the premises and took six GHD Hair straighteners worth £120 each, £200 worth of hair stylist products and £50 worth of shampoo. The offender then left the area in an unknown direction.

In a statement the force said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, in particular anyone with dashcam footage who was driving on Holgate Road around the time of the offence.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Andrew Copeland.
