Even the most ardent of Remainers must have cringed when they heard the latest outpourings from Donald Tusk and Guy Verhofstadt.

These two, along with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, are surely the best examples of why we should get out of the EU as soon as is possible, with or without a deal. Is any sane UK citizen happy with them and their kind dictating how we live?

One wonders why, if the EU and Tusk (the ex-Prime Minister of Poland) did so much for his native country, so many of his fellow Poles felt the need to come to the UK in their tens of thousands?

Are we ever going to get a fair deal from these bureaucrats, who appear to have so much disrespect for our nation and its citizens? No chance!

Get out regardless, set up worldwide trade deals, rebuild our manufacturing industries, and who knows we may just succeed in going it alone.

Let’s keep money for our own pet schemes

The late Dr Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda chief, believed and proved that the bigger and more often repeated a lie, the more likely it was to be believed, even by the sophisticated.

That may be why so many EU subsidy junkies believe that their largesse is created by Europe and will be withdrawn after Brexit. Apart from the controversial Brexit bus no one seems to have pointed out that they are getting back part of our contribution to the EU.

When we no longer have to subsidise the massive Brussels bureaucracy and pay for their pet schemes we can take over their subsidies and have money left over for our own pet schemes, eg the NHS.

Abe Lincoln’s dictum ‘You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but not all of the people all of the time’ is being proved right, and not just in this country.

Tusk won’t get his own way with insults

Donald Tusk, one of five unelected presidents within the EU hierarchy, thinks by insulting 17.4 million voters in Britain he will get his own way. Not a chance in hell.
