POLICE have issued a dispersal order following "numerous" reports of anti-social behaviour in part of York.

The order will be in place for the next three nights in the Foss Islands and Layerthorpe retail areas.

North Yorkshire Police said officers "will be patrolling and dealing with any issues robustly".

The crackdown follows "numerous reports of anti-social behaviour" in the Foss Islands Road area of York earlier this week.

A number of youths were spoken to and ordered to leave the area, police said.
