YORK'S first Virtual Reality arcade has opened allowing gamers to immerse themselves in a host of alternate worlds.

Play It VR opened on Saturday in York Road, Acomb, offering more than 60 games and experiences for all age ranges and genres including action, puzzle, games, relaxing, and sci-fi.

The new venture has been launched by local couple Kate Nolton and Mike Creedon.

Kate said: “We’re really proud to be opening the arcade and providing this type of experience for Acomb and York.

"We are looking forward to working with different groups of people and exploring the applications that VR can offer.”

The venue is a first for York, with virtual reality arcades already open in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Bradford.
