A MOTORCYCLIST has been left seriously injured following a crash near York this morning.
North Yorkshire Police said that they were called to a serious collision between a motorbike and two cars on the south-bound A1 near Dishforth at around 8.50am. In a statement the force said: "The rider of the motorcycle suffered a serious arm injury which is not believed to be life-threatening.
"He has been taken by ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
" An air ambulance attended the scene but was not required. The inside lane has been closed by the Highways Agency to traffic while the vehicles are recovered.
"Witnesses are asked to call 101, select option 2, and speak to the Force Control Room. Please quote reference NYP-06022019-0070."
