A CAR burst into flames after a crash in a York road.
North Yorkshire Police said they were called to the junction between Green Dykes Lane and Thief Lane, York, at 3pm today (Monday) after a collision between a Fiat and a Volkswagen.
The fire service was also called after one of the cars caught fire, which has now been extinguished.
A spokesman for the force added that the drivers sustained injuries but they are not thought to be serious. They added that the road reopened at 4pm.
Thandi Revill, from Newland Park Drive, said she was walking home with her children when she saw the aftermath of crash.
She said: "I was walking my children home from school when I saw an ambulance race past us.
"When we turned the corner we could see a fire engine and the car which was badly dented."
