YORK’S St Leonard’s Hospice is offering people the opportunity to trek the Great Wall of China in aid of the charity next year.
The nine-day trip will take place in October 2020 and the hospice is holding an information evening in the fundraising building at the hospice on April 17 this year from 6.30pm.
As well as members of the hospice fundraising team, a representative from Different Travel Company will be there to show a presentation, talk through the itinerary and answer any questions. Attendance is free and there will be drinks and snacks available.
The total price of the trip is £1,925 which includes flights, all travel and transport, accommodation in B&Bs, meals, local trek guides and all necessary permits. The hospice would also like participants to raise a minimum of £1,500 for St Leonard’s in sponsorship. Support with fundraising will be given.
The trip includes a challenging five-day trek along the wall and is rounded off with a trip to Beijing and two of its biggest attractions, The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
