AN escaped convict has been caught trying to rob City Bank in York.

Officer Randal Shuck came to the rescue to save the day, and peace has now returned to the city, ensuring everyone can go about their business happily once more.

Fake news! In reality, Grand Opera House theatre staff have been having fun in anticipation of Mischief Theatre’s arrival next Tuesday with the Olivier Award-nominated West End hit comedy A Comedy About A Bank Robbery.

While the London production runs into a third year at the Criterion Theatre in London, the tour of the smash-and-grab comedy caper will be coming to York from February 5 to 9.

The Comedy About A Bank Robbery will be following another Mischief Theatre success into the Grand Opera House: The Play That Goes Wrong enjoyed a sold-out run there last May.
