VISITORS to York Explore Library have been admiring a model train made out of about 30,000 Lego bricks.

The 13-ft long train is a replica of the Grand Central Adelante train, made by Steve Mayes - also known as Lego architect Brick.

It is on display at the library as part of the city's Residents Festival, which is sponsored by the train operator Grand Central, and it can be seen today until the library shuts at 4pm.

One of the library visitors fascinated by the train yesterday was 10-year-old Ella Hatfield, from Clifton.

Elsewhere, scores of tourist attractions, from York Dungeon to Clifford's Tower, can be seen by residents for free again today, on the second day of the annual weekend festival, which is organised by Visit York and is now in its 24th year.
