DALBY Forest will feature on Countryfile this weekend as the Forestry Commission marks its centenary.

Presenter Matt Baker will be trying his hand at different activities at the forest for the BBC1 show which can be seen at 4.20pm on Sunday.

Turner Prize-winning artist Rachel Whiteread will also be interviewed by her Nissen Hut sculpture, commissioned to mark the anniversary.

"Local residents and regular visitors will recognise a few local faces, see lots of Dalby, hear about our rich history and see the significance of our district within the Forestry Commission’s Centenary celebrations," said a spokesman. "It is anticipated that it will also create unprecedented demand for the dry stone wall maze stone carving workshops at Dalby."

The dry stone wall maze, being built by craftsman Mark Ellis, will feature in BBC Countryfile's March magazine.
